I totally loved it!!! I have all the books in this series in paperback, and have read them all several times. Now I'm slowly adding them on my Kindle, which is much easier to handle when taking a trip.Justin and Serena's story will always be one of my favorites in the series, though. The way they try to one-up each other is hilarious. I don't know which one of them is more pig-headed or stubborn. I'm sure having to put up with a controlling father and two loving but over-potective brothers, helped Serena the strong woman she is today. And growing up the way that Justin had to do at such a young age, just made him more determined to win at any cost.
Visiting the MacGregor family has always been a bit of a wild adventure, but always a very pleasant journey, all the same. The way Daniel continues his sneaky ways, and the way Anna reels him back in....always leaves me laughing long after the story has ended.
I would highly recommend not only this book, but all of the books in this series.

Another great book by Nora Roberts. After just taking a cruise with my daughter, the first part of this book got me "hooked" since it was about a young women working in a cruise ship's casino.
The book has many sex scenes, but just adds to the excitement of this book. It is a story very difficult to put down; you want to keep reading to see what is going to happen next. A love story with a surprising twist!
I really enjoyed this first book in the series about Serena McGregor. She has finished studying and is working on a cruise ship in the casino for a year. She meets the H, a professional gambler, during her last few weeks before she returns home. There is instant attraction but I like the way the relationship develops through the book. I've already downloaded the next 2 books about this h's brothers.
The novel moved along in a fast pace with plenty of adventure on the high seas and afterwards. Serena is a force to be reckoned with and her attraction to mr Blake, a wealthy casino owner makes the plot a challenge.
I had hoped Serena would turn him down and used the partnership to gain more experience in the business world.
Perhaps this novel is more targeted to a younger audience with dreams of expanding their wings after a liberal arts education.
Playing the Odds is another in the wonderful series about the MacGregor family. The reader quickly gets the feeling of living in the midst of this intriguing family - living life right along with them. Nora Roberts has the incredible ability to just draw the reader right in, as if you/ve never left, bringing you up to date with all that is happening. My only caution Beware - the story ends way before you are ready to say 'goodbye until next book.'
I love Nora Roberts, and most of her books are 5 stars for me. I know her books can be predictable but that honestly doesn't bother me I just enjoy her characters and writing style. But for some reason this one just didn't work for me. I didn't really enjoy the characters and the timeline just didn't work for me
Classic Roberts- strong, lively characters you want to get back with again and again, a moderately suspenseful plot twist, and a believable romance. In this series, Roberts has heroes and heroines equally matched in finances, unlike other writers, who have a Cinderella rescued by her wealthy prince.
Her eye for detail allows the reader to experience a bit of the backstage of a cruise ship casino and a resort city casino.
I have read this book 3 or 4 times and it gets better with each reading. I loved Serena and Justin and the whole MacGregor clan. I kept trying to picture the actor who would play Justin if the book were made into a movie. I haven't picked out anyone yet because he is just special to me.
