Great story, great characters. The main characters are a smart young woman and a loveable female alien. There are also a couple of pretty cool dudes who will jump out of your e-reader and command your attention. It's a fun story, very suspenseful, but it also has some aha moments. It's terrific.
This novel is really fun. The characters are so real and fully drawn; they are like people you could really know, and they are so likeable! And it's such a page turner, because you worry so much about what happens to them. It's a fun read, very entertaining, and the author's writing style is a pleasure to read. And the story has some depth to it, some interesting commentary on the meaning of life. Like all really good science fiction, it makes you think; but more than that, it's just a really good story. I won't say much more, because too many customer reviews have too many spoilers. You know how you buy a good book or CD and it's just priceless, what you paid for it doesn't even matter? This book is like that! Just totally priceless!

I liked the book. It was very different. I'm not sure exactly what age group it is geared towards, it's hard to tell. The story seems somewhat childlike, as if a child came up with the ideas for the story, then had an adult write it for them. For me, the book was missing someone. A strong determined hero maybe? Despite that, I did enjoy the book and read it quite quickly. Considering this is the authors first book, it was good. I look forward to reading more of her work and seeing how much her writing changes.
